Simple DIY Centerpiece for your Thanksgiving Table

With your busy kid schedule, centerpieces are probably pretty low on our priority list.  However, if you are hosting Thanksgiving or just want to add a bit Thanksgiving flare to your dining table, here is a really simple and quick centerpiece that won’t break the bank.

What you will need:

  • Cloth Napkins, a Dish Towel or a Hand Towel (Use a fall color or the color of your table if possible.)
  • 6-9 Candle Sticks and/or votives in varying heights (You can use more if you have a longer table.)
  • Candles (Try fall colors or cream or any color to match your decor)
  • Tiny, battery operated, LED lights (Depending on the length of your table, you may need 2 sets.)
  • Pine Cones in a variety of sizes
  • Twigs from your back yard
  • Leaves from your back yard
Step 1

Step 1:  Take your towel or napkin and fold it to a size slightly smaller than the size of the centerpiece you desire.  The main purpose of this step is to protect your table.  (If you are using a table cloth or table runner, you may skip this step.)

Step 2

Step 2:  Place your candlesticks in clusters along the center of the table on the towel or napkin.

Step 3

Step 3:  Swirl your mini lights around the candle sticks.

Step 4

Step 4:  Pile your pinecones around the the candle sticks making the pile higher in the center and lower along the edges.  TIP:  The wire from the mini lights can help hold a few of the pine cones in place.

Step 5

Step 5:  Hide the rest of the towel with the short sticks and twigs and leaves you collected from outside.
