Should You See the New Movie ‘The Grinch’?

😀😀😀😀⚪️⚪️

Last week a new Christmas classic hit movie theaters everywhere.  The Grinch, staring Benedict Cumberbatch as the Grinch and Pharrell Williams as the narrator, is a fun, feature length film based on the book How The Grinch Stole Christmas!, by Dr. Seuss.

I must admit, I was worried another Grinch movie would dilute the enjoyment of the original cartoon classic seen on TV since 1966, especially since How The Grinch Stole Christmas! staring Jim Carry came out in 2000 (it is hard to believe that was 18 years ago).  However, The Grinch did not disappoint.  While directors Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier took creative license to bring the story into 2018, The Grinch held onto most of Dr. Seuss’s original charm.

The animation was fun, vibrant and filled with Christmas delight.  There were moments at the beginning where the animation was scanning the town so quickly that it was difficult to focus on anything.  This did not bother my kids, but I found it a bit annoying.  Once the story began, everything was perfect.

The cast did a wonderful job embodying the characters of The Grinch, the Narrator and Donna Who.  Cameron Seely, the voice of Cindy-Lou Who, was the perfect choice for Cindy-Lou.

This movie will fill your heart with Christmas spirit and your kids will be giggling about it for days to come.  The Grinch will definitely be added to our annual Christmas movie ‘must watch’ list.
