An Easy Spin on Snack Time

When Grandma visits she always arrives with boxes of my old toys, a little something special for each of her grandchildren and the makings for a proper tea party.  Lucia looks forward to this special time and my boys and Addy love it, too. It is the highlight of her trip!  Grandma brings vanilla and strawberry sugar wafers and special pink napkins.  I make peppermint iced tea.  We pull out my daughter’s toy tea set and enjoy a little chat while ensuring we keep our pinkies up!

You can use your full size tea set or your child’s toy tea set. Pair your tea with small sandwich squares or apple slices with cinnamon or cookies.  If you are feeling especially adventurous, why not bake fresh scones? Whatever your kids snack of choice is, turn it into a tea party!

Peppermint Iced Tea is really simple to make.

Ingredients:

2 Peppermint Tea Bags

12 oz steaming hot water

3 cups ice

Step 1:  Steep 2 Peppermint Tea Bags in 12 oz of steaming hot water for 5 minutes.

Step 2:  While the tea is steeping, fill a 24 oz glass or liquid measuring cup with ice.

Step 3:  When the tea is done steeping, discard the tea bags and pour over the ice.  NOTE:  Do not squeeze the tea bags as it will make the tea bitter.

Step 4:  Transfer the iced tea to a teapot and serve with milk and sugar on the side.

If you want to increase the fun, wear beautiful hats or dress up!
